Isle of Ely Philatelic Society
Society History
The Society was founded following a
meeting of ten local collectors with a common interest on Philately.
At the inaugural meeting on Thursday 21st
April 1983 in the Ely Council Chambers it was agreed to form
“The Isle of
Ely Philatelic Society” which would become a member of the East Midlands
Federation.
Within two years membership had grown to
thirty.
For some this was a second society and,
whilst our membership has never been high it’s always been friendly and loyal.
During 1993 the society hosted the EMFSC
43rd Convention and a Judging Seminar in 1966.
Meetings are still held on the first
Thursday monthly from September to June.
