Isle of Ely Philatelic Society

Society History

The Society was founded following a meeting of ten local collectors with a common interest on Philately.

At the inaugural meeting on Thursday 21^st April 1983 in the Ely Council Chambers it was agreed to form

“The Isle of Ely Philatelic Society” which would become a member of the East Midlands Federation.

Within two years membership had grown to thirty.

For some this was a second society and, whilst our membership has never been high it’s always been friendly and loyal.

During 1993 the society hosted the EMFSC 43^rd Convention and a Judging Seminar in 1966.

Meetings are still held on the first Thursday monthly from September to June.
