Grantham Stamp Club
Stamp Club History
The
possibility of starting a stamp club in Grantham has been talked about for years.
Frank Pell first mentioned the subject in 1970. However, it was on December 12th
1972 that Frank, Les Hillard, John Penrose and myself R. Kirk got together and, fortified with home-made
wine, decided to form a stamp club. At the second meeting there was an
attendance of two. However, by advertising in the “Grantham Journal”, who also
obliged with a generous write-up, we gathered together fifteen for the third
meeting at the Grantham College for Further Education.
Grantham S.C. joined the
Federation in 1973.
